The Michigan Water Quality Association (MWQA) is a trade association representing the water conditioning industry throughout Michigan. As the industry spokesman in Michigan, MWQA concentrates on issues of state and local importance, while the Water Quality Association works on the national level. The President and Board of Directors are elected from the membership. Regent is the second past President. Nominating Committees are comprised of past presidents. Each director is assigned to direct one or more of the standing committees, which may include the following: Membership; Education; Certification; Planning; Budget-Finance-Audit-By-Laws; Nominating; Awards; Recognition; Insurance Program; Plumbing; Truth in Marketing; and Convention. MEMBERSHIP COOPERATION The greatest of all membership benefits is that of the exchange of ideas and industry experiences. By joining MWQA you can build a network of friends in the business for you and your family. TRADE SHOW An annual trade show, either individually as a state or as a part of several Great Lakes states, featuring suppliers from across the country demonstrating the most advanced products and services available on the market today. Find out what is new to your industry, reestablished ties with existing suppliers and gain insight from new suppliers. EDUCATION MWQA promotes training, education al programs and certification to further enhance the knowledge and competence of water treatment personnel. You can improve and update your technical and business knowledge by attending various educational, training, and technical programs. http://www.wqa.org/ LEGISLATIVE PROTECTION MWQA give you strong representation before not only the legislature, but also before state governments departments and agencies that can affect your business and your lives. Only when many voices speak as one are your interests protected in the fields of labor, legislation, and public relations. The Association monitors the activities of the legislature and agencies whose rulings will affect your industry. MWQA membership, through our lobbying efforts, puts you at the table when your business future is being debated. MWQA NEWSLETTER The MWQA newsletter, the Waterline, is a way of communicating with each member on a regular basis. It keeps members informed on many important industry and legislate issues as well as general trade information on a state and national level. MWQA CERTIFICATE Members receive a membership certificate with yearly updates for display in their businesses to indicate their membership to the general public. MWQA MEMBERSHIP ROSTER MWQA will publish an annual directory containing the complete roster of MWQA members, each firm's name, address, phone, and fax numbers, and owner/ manager. PUBLIC RELATIONS As more and more companies join MWQA, we can increase public awareness of the industry and its importance in the community. MEMBERSHIP CATAGORIES Retailer Any individual or firm engaged in any retail selling of water treatment equipment, products, and/or services to the end user. Manufacturer/Supplier/Distributor (Associate Member) Any individual or firm engaged in production or sale of equipment, parts, merchandise, or services to retail dealers of any firm related to the water industry, but not involved in direct retail or product supply within the state of Michigan. MEMBERSHIP DUES: Retailer: $450.00 Manufacturer/ Supplier/ Distributor (Associate Member): $450.00 Dues are paid annually: dues may be paid in 1 payment of $450, or in two installments: $230 due by March 1, and $225 due by June 1.
